Describing a graph

Singapore:
According to figure 1, the profits reached HK$40 million in 1994 and rose to HK$50 million in the next year. They were attributed to the Singaporean taxation policy in early 1990s. They remained stable at this level until 1996. There were a steady decline to HK$30 millon by 1998 where they stayed until 1999. They further declined to HK$10 million by 2001. A possible explanation for the decline was that there was keen competition from Malaysia in mid and late 1990s.

Hong Kong:
It can seem from the figure1, the profits of Hong Kong followed Singapore starting at HK$30 millon and reached a peak of HK$60 millon in 1997.This was because there was a pre handover boom in HK.Then, they fell dramatically to HK$30 million in the next year ,which were the same as Singapore in the same year due to the post handover depression after 1997. Starting from 1998, the profits further declined to HK$20 million in 1999 and rebounded to HK$40 million in 2001. The reason for this was the growth of China Market.

Findings

Table 4 illustrates the satisfactory level on working condition of both junior and senior staff in an insurance company. There are three aspects of working conditions which will be discussed due to low satisfactory level.

3.1) Equipment
Nearly three-quarters of junior staff were dissatisfied with the equipment in the company. This might be because the computers they used were too old and the softwares were in old version. It can lead to low working efficiency for the junior staff.

3.2) Furniture
More than half of junior staff were dissatisfied with the furniture used in the company. The findings perhaps indicated that the furniture were old and made them uncomfortable. The effect of this might be staff require for sick leave frequently due to uncomfortable working environment.

3.3) Pantry
Nearly half of junior and senior staff were dissatisfied with the pantry in the office. It seems that the kitchen was too small and dirty. Another possible reason was that there was only one microwave in the pantry. A result of this was that staff will need to dine out during the working period.
